“I was inspired by the idea of a vessel: both a container and a way to travel to new lands. The work started when my son told me of the falling of the Plas beech tree and the project to celebrate it by inviting artists.
We decided to create a rare generational collaboration.
My piece grew into a male torso, holding my son’s work, which is supported and rises from it.”
