Mae Katy Mai Webster yn artist ac yn wneuthurwraig printiadau wedi ei lleoli ar Benrhyn Llŷn. Mae ei gwaith wedi ei ysbrydoli gan yr ardal arfordirol o amgylch ei chartref, yn enwedig y lliwiau a gwead y tirlun, marciau a wnaed gan ddyn ar y tir a manylion natur megis ffosiliau, blodau gwyllt, cerrig a chen.
Graddiodd Katy o Ysgol Gelf a Dylunio Gogledd Cymru yn 2009 gyda gradd Dosbarth Cyntaf mewn Celf Gain ac ers hynny mae wedi bod yn gweithio fel artist gan arbenigo mewn paentio, gwneud printiadau a serameg.
Mae tirluniau serameg Katy yn cael eu gwneud â llaw gyda porslen a chrochenwaith clai caled. Tynnir y clai i mewn gyda phensil cyn i ocsidau a sglein gael eu hychwanegu mewn haenau. Mae’r darn terfynnol yn cael ei danio sawl gwaith, y sglein yn cael ei ychwanegu rhwng pob taniad er mwyn creu gwead a dyfnder.

Katy Mai Webster is an artist and printmaker based on the Llŷn Peninsula. Her work is inspired by the beautiful coastal area around her home, especially the colours and textures of the landscape, human marks on the land and the tiny details of nature such as fossils, wildflowers, pebbles, and lichen.
Katy graduated from North Wales School of Art & Design in 2009 with a First-Class honours degree in Fine Art and since then has been working as a practising artist, specialising in painting, printmaking and ceramics.
Katy’s ceramic landscapes are individually handmade with porcelain and stoneware clays. The clay is drawn into with a pencil before oxides and glazes are added in layers. The final piece is fired several times, glaze being added between each firing to build up texture and depth in the work.
