Ganed Judith Donaghy yn Frodsham, Swydd Gaer. Hyfforddodd fel dylunydd tecstilau cyn newid i gelfyddyd gain. Gan weithio'n bennaf mewn olew ar gynfas mae ei phaentiadau lled-haniaethol o arfordir, cefn gwlad a blodau yn adlewyrchu ei chariad at natur, lliw a gwead. Mae ei phaentiadau yn ymwneud â phynciau sy’n gyfarwydd ym mywyd bob dydd.

Mae Judith wedi arddangos ei gwaith mewn arddangosfeydd cymysg ac unigol ym Mhrydain Fawr a thramor. Cynrychiolir ei phaentiadau mewn orielau yng Nghymru a Lloegr yn ogystal a mewn casgliadau preifat.

Mae yn cynnal gweithdai cyllell balet o bryd i'w gilydd ac mae ganddi stiwdios yn Sir Gaer ac Ynys Môn, ger Rhosneigr, ble mae'n cymryd rhan mewn digwyddiad stiwdio agored blynyddol.

‘Mae fy nghariad at Ogledd Cymru, Ynys Môn yn arbennig, yn cael ei adlewyrchu yn fy ngwaith. Mae’r traethau, y môr a’r awyr, y dirwedd arw - mor wahanol bob dydd a gyda’r golau’n newid yn gyson, fyddai byth yn blino ei archwilio ar gyfer fy mhaentiadau.’

Judith Donaghy was born in Frodsham, Cheshire. She trained as a textile designer before changing to fine art. Working mainly in oil on canvas her semi-abstract paintings of coast, countryside and flowers reflect her love of nature, colour and texture Her paintings are of subjects that most people can relate to according to their personal life experience.

Judith has exhibited her work in shared and solo exhibitions in Great Britain and abroad. Her paintings are represented in Welsh and English galleries and in private collections.

She is a teacher and demonstrator who occasionally holds palette knife workshops and has studios in Cheshire and Anglesey near Rhosneigr, where each year she takes part in the open studio event around Easter.

‘My love of North Wales, Anglesey in particular, is reflected in my work. The beaches, the sea and sky, the rugged landscape, so different each day and with every changing light are all something I never tire of exploring in my paintings.’
