Collection: Louise Hibbert

Ers cwblhau ei gradd anrhydedd mewn Dylunio 3D ym Mhrifysgol Brighton yn 1994, mae Louise Hibbert wedi gweithio fel crefftwr proffesiynol llawn amser yn y DU ac yn UDA.

Mae ei gwaith wedi’i arddangos yn eang yn y DU ac yn rhyngwladol, gan gynnwys Collect yn Oriel Saatchi a’r Amgueddfa Victoria & Albert, Llundain; Welsh Collection II yng Nghanolfan Grefft Rhuthun; yr Eisteddfodau yng Nghymru; Genus Australis yng Ngerddi Kew; a SOFA Efrog Newydd a Chicago.

Mae Hibbert hefyd wedi cyflwyno gwaith mewn ffeiriau crefft mawr megis Ffair Grefft Chelsea, Origin a MADE London, y Contemporary Craft Fair yn Bovey Tracey, Sioe Grefft y Smithsonian yn Washington DC, a Sioe Grefft Amgueddfa Gelf Philadelphia.

Bu’n Artist Preswyl yn 22ain Symposiwm Cymdeithas Troellwyr Pren America yn Richmond, Virginia, ac mae wedi arddangos yn arddangosfa Meistri yn Wizardry in Wood gyda’r Worshipful Company of Turners. Mae hefyd yn Iwmon o’r Worshipful Company of Turners.

Ochr yn ochr â’i hymarfer unigol, mae Hibbert wedi cymryd rhan mewn prosiectau pren cydweithredol ar raddfa fawr yn Iwerddon, Tsieina a Nepal, ac wedi ymgymryd â chyfnodau preswyl artistiaid yn UDA ac Awstralia. Mae ei gwaith wedi’i gynnwys mewn nifer o lyfrau a chyhoeddiadau, gan gynnwys Intersection: Art and Life (Kevin Wallace) a New Masters of the Wooden Box (Oscar Fitzgerald).

Cedwir ei gwaith mewn casgliadau cyhoeddus a phreifat ledled y byd, gan gynnwys casgliad parhaol Oriel Renwick yn Amgueddfa Gelf Smithsonian America, Washington DC.

Since completing her honours degree in 3D Design at Brighton University in 1994, Louise Hibbert has worked as a full-time professional maker in both the UK and the USA.

Her work has been exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, including Collect at the Saatchi Gallery and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Welsh Collection II at Ruthin Craft Centre; the Eisteddfods in Wales; Genus Australis at Kew Gardens; and SOFA New York and Chicago.

Hibbert has also presented work at major craft fairs such as the Chelsea Craft Fair, Origin and MADE London, the Contemporary Craft Fair at Bovey Tracey, the Smithsonian Craft Show in Washington DC, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show.

She was a Resident Artist at the 22nd American Association of Woodturners Symposium in Richmond, Virginia, and has exhibited in the Masters exhibition at Wizardry in Wood with the Worshipful Company of Turners. She is a Yeoman of the Worshipful Company of Turners.

Alongside her individual practice, Hibbert has participated in large-scale collaborative wood projects in Ireland, China, and Nepal, and has undertaken artist residencies in the USA and Australia. Her work has been featured in numerous books and publications, including Intersection: Art and Life (Kevin Wallace) and New Masters of the Wooden Box (Oscar Fitzgerald).

Her work is held in public and private collections worldwide, including the permanent collection of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington DC.
