Collection: Theo Crutchley-Mack

Mae Theo Crutchley-Mack yn artist Prydeinig cyfoes ac mae ei waith yn ymddangos mewn casgliadau preifat a chyhoeddus ledled y DU

Yn ei arddegau dyluniodd Theo ddarn arian 50 ceiniog a gafodd ei fathu mewn cylchrediad cenedlaethol gyda chymeradwyaeth frenhinol, gan sbarduno cyfeiriad artistig clir o oedran ifanc.

Ers graddio o Brifysgol Falmouth, a chael sioe raddio ble gwerthwyd pob tocyn, mae wedi arddangos yn llwyddiannus ledled Cymru a Chernyw dros y 5 mlynedd diwethaf.

Yn 2018 gwahoddwyd Theo i ynys De Georgia yn yr is-Antarctig, lle bu’n paentio a dogfennu adfeilion y gorsafoedd morfila i helpu i godi arian ar gyfer Ymddiriedolaeth Treftadaeth De Georgia, sy’n gweithio i adfer cynefinoedd bywyd gwyllt brodorol sydd wedi eu difrodi. Cafodd ansawdd flêr yr adfeilion hyn effaith sylweddol ar ei waith a'i ddilyniant.
Mae Theo yn ymdrechu i gofnodi tirweddau aneglur, sy'n aml yn anghyfannedd ac yn anghysbell. Mae'n treulio oriau lawer yn yr awyr agored yn gwneud paentiadau ‘plein air’ sy'n bwydo gweithiau mwy a gynhyrchir o gyfforddusrwydd ei stiwdio. Mae'r arddangosfa hon 'Llechi, Coed a Thir' yn arddangos detholiad o gyfansoddiadau a gasglwyd o archwiliadau Theo o dirweddau llechi diwydiannol Gogledd Cymru.

Theo Crutchley-Mack is a contemporary British artist whose work appears in private and public collections throughout the UK

As a teenager Theo designed a 50 pence coin that was minted into national circulation with royal approval, sparking a clear artistic direction from a young age.

Since graduating from Falmouth University with a sell-out degree show, he has continued to exhibit successfully throughout Wales and Cornwall for 5 years to date.

In 2018 Theo was invited to the sub-Antarctic island of South Georgia where he painted and documented the ruined whaling stations to help fund raiser for the South Georgia Heritage Trust, who work to restore the damaged habitats of native wildlife. The ramshackle quality of these ruins had a significant effect on his work and it's progression.

Theo strives to record the obscure landscape, often abandoned and remote. He spends many hours outside making plein air paintings that feed larger works produced from the comfort of his studio. This exhibition 'Slate, Wood and Land' displays a selection of compositions captured from Theo's explorations of North Wales industrial slate landscapes.
