Rwyf yn cael fy ysbrydoli gan y byd naturiol ac wedi bod ddigon lwcus i fyw mewn ardaloedd hyfryd a gwledig yn dilyn treulio hanner cyntaf fy mywyd yn Eryri gan symud i Ynys Enlli yn 13 oed. ‘Rwyf ‘nawr yn byw yn Y Rhiw.

Galluogwyd fi i ddilyn fy hoffter angerddol tuag at luniadu bywyd gwyllt a threuliais lawer o fy amser allan yn yr awyr agored , yn arsylwi a phaentio morloi, adar y môr, morweddau, yr arfordir, gan ddatblygu diddordeb yn ddiweddarach mewn gwybed, gloynod byw a blodau.

Yn ystod y ddwy flynedd ddiwethaf, rwyf wedi bod yn gweithio gyda dyfrlliw gan ddefnyddio cwyr i greu haenau o liw mewn lluniau o lystyfiant.

Mae fy nhestunau fel arfer yn rhai botanegol, a hoffaf roi sylw i bethau bychan and ydi pobl fel arfer yn sylwi arnynt, pryfetach, blodau bach a gweiriau.

Mae’r modd mae artistiaid yn creu eu gwaith yn fy nghyfareddu, hoffaf weld y marciau maent yn eu gwneud ar y ddalen, y brasluniau yn hytrach na’r darn gorffenedig. Mae’r defnydd o linell yn rhywbeth sydd yn fy niddori , sut mae testun yn cael ei gyfleu trwy un amlinelliad, a’r modd mae artist yn defnyddio eu pensiliau a’u hoffer.

I have always drawn inspiration from the natural world.

I have been fortunate to live in very beautiful and remote areas, having spent the first half of my life in Snowdonia, and later moving to Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island), where I lived from the age 13.

This enabled me to pursue my love of drawing wildlife and I spent much of my time outside, observing and painting,; seals, seabirds, seascapes, shorelines; later developing an interest in moths, butterflies and flowers.

For the last two years, I have been working with watercolours, and using wax to create layers of colour in pieces depicting vegetation.

My subjects tend to be botanical, and I like to focus on small things people often miss; insects, small flowers, grasses.

How artists approach their work fascinates me; I like to see the marks they make on the page, the rough sketches rather than the finished piece.

The use of line is also something I find interesting; how a subject can be depicted by a single outline, and the way an artist uses their pencils and tools. I have learnt a great deal from working alongside fellow wildlife artists and learning from their approaches and experience.

I now live in Rhiw, on the Llyn Peninsula, and continue to be delighted every day by the hidden things in nature.
