O’r goeden ffawydd cawsom siarcol fel anrheg, deunydd hollol newydd i ni. Rydym wedi defnyddio dulliau o’n ymarfer creadigol i gyflwyno ein hunain i’r sylwedd newydd hynod hwn – chwarae, cymysgu, hydradu, sychu, malu, arsylwi. Mae ein profion cychwynnol wedi arwain at anturiaethau mwy dewr, gan i’n gweithredoedd greddfol arwain at gam-drin pedwar ffordd o sgwrsio rhyngom ni, y siarcol a’r amser ei hun. Mae’r darnau siarcol ‘o’r’ goeden, ond wedi cael eu newid yn gemegol – wedi’u gwahanu o linell amser naturiol y goeden o eni, bywyd, marwolaeth a dadelfeniad. Yn y diwedd, gwnaethom eu cyfuno â symudiadau ein cyrff ein hunain, gan roi bywyd newydd i’r cylch.
From the beech tree we were gifted charcoal, for us a completely new material. We have used methods from our practice to introduce us to this startlingly new substance – playing, mixing, hydrating, drying, grinding, observing. Our initial experiments have led to braver pursuits, our intuitive actions leading to a four-way cacophony of conversations amongst ourselves, the charcoal and with time itself. The charcoal pieces are ‘of’ the tree, but have been chemically altered - separated out from the tree’s own time-line of birth, life, death and decomposition. In the end, we combined it with our own body’s movements, inserting new life into the cycle.
