Ysgythru solar, lithograff, dargopîo monoteip a phowdr siarcol / Solar etching, lithograph, trace monotype and charcoal powder

Yn y blynyddoedd diwethaf, rwyf wedi dogfennu coed yn syrthio o amgylch fy stiwdio yn Hafod y Llŷn, gan gymeryd diddordeb arbennig mewn systemau gwreiddiau a’r rhwydwaith myseliwm. Daeth gwreiddiau y goeden ffawydd a syrthiodd yn ganolog i’r prosiect Coed Coexist.
Cymerais rannau o’r goeden a darnau o siarcol yn ôl i fy stiwdio, gwnes inc o’r siarcol, ac fe’m ysbrydolwyd gan y pren llawn bwr i greu marciau sydd yn arwyddion.
I ddatblygu’r gwaith ymhellach, defnyddiais blatiau solar fel dull i drawsnewid fy lluniadau siarcol i ffurf argraffiadol. Mae elfennau llosg a siarcol yn adlewyrchu’r deunydd gwreiddiol. Roedd haenau lithograffig yn cynnwys ystod o gyfeirnodau gweledol, gan gynnwys ffotograffau o systemau gwreiddiau, llwybrau nerfau, a sganiau o’m corff fy hun. Mae’r cyfuniad hwn o ddelweddau wedi helpu i adeiladu deialog rhwng ffurfiau organig y goeden ffawydd a’r rhwydweithiau mewnol yn y corff dynol, gan gryfhau’r ffocws thematig ar gysylltiad a thrawsnewid drwy’r gwaith.

In recent years, I have documented fallen trees around my studio at Hafod y Llŷn, with particular interest in the root systems and the mycelium network. The exposed roots of the fallen beech tree became central to the Coed Coexist project.
I took sections and charcoal pieces back to my studio, made ink from the charcoal, and found inspiration in the burr-laden wood for gestural mark-making.
To further develop the work, I utilised solar plates as a method to transpose my charcoal drawings into print form. Burnt, charred elements reflect the source material. Lithographic layers incorporated a range of visual references, including photographs of root systems, nerve pathways, and scans of my own body. This combination of imagery helped to build a dialogue between the organic forms of the beech tree and the internal networks within the human body, reinforcing the thematic focus of connection and transformation throughout the work.
