Casglwyd detholiad o bren ffawydd a cheirios o’r goeden a syrthiodd gan John Egan yn ystod y gwanwyn. I wneud y slatiau o ffawydd a cheirios, holltais y pren yn ddarnau llai cyn ei naddu a’i siapio gyda chyllell dynnu i’r lled a’r trwch dymunol.
Ffocws y basgedi hyn yw dathlu harddwch mewnol y goeden, y patrymau yn y graen o dan wyneb y rhisgl sy’n nodi hynt amser.
A selection of Beech and Cherry wood from the fallen tree was collected from John Egan in Springtime. To make the slats of Beech and Cherry, I cleaved the wood into smaller sections before shaving and shaping with a drawknife to the desirable width and thickness.
The focus of these baskets is to celebrate the inner beauty of the tree, the patterns in the grain beneath the bark surface marking the passage of time.
