Ffawydd, llosg, olew a chwyr / Beech wood, burning, oil and wax

500mm x 2050mm x 400mm

Ffurfiwyd y darn hwn o bren pan syrthiodd y goeden, wedi’i hannog gan y gwynt a phwysau ei bywyd, ar ei changen fawr ei hun. Chwalodd y grym aruthrol y gangen, gan ddatgelu’r pren y tu mewn a hollti darn o bren maint dyn oddi wrtho.

Rwy’n defnyddio’r foment hon fel ffordd o ailgysylltu pobl â natur. Nid ydym ar wahân i’r byd naturiol; rydym yn rhan ohono, yn union fel y mae natur yn rhan ohonom ni. Gall twf ac esblygiad ym mhob peth ffynnu pan fyddwn yn gwrando ac yn arsylwi ar ein hamgylchedd.

This section of wood was formed when the tree, encouraged by wind and the load of its life, fell onto its own large limb. The immense force shattered the branch, revealing the wood inside and splitting off a human-sized shard of timber.

I use this moment as a way to reconnect humans and nature. We are not separate from the natural world; we are part of it, just as nature is part of us.  Growth and evolution in all things can thrive when we listen and observe our surroundings.
