Collection: Luned Rhys Parri

Mae Luned Rhys Parri yn artist sy'n gweithio yn ardal Caernarfon, ac mae ei gwaith yn cyfuno collage, paentio ac elfennau tri dimensiwn. Yn aml, mae ei gwaith yn tynnu ysbrydoliaeth o hanes a diwylliant Cymru, gan ymateb ar adegau i ddigwyddiadau gwleidyddol ac eiliadau arwyddocaol o orffennol y genedl. 

Mae Luned wedi datblygu iaith weledol unigryw trwy ddefnyddio deunyddiau a ganfuwyd - yn enwedig hen gylchgronau a phapurau newydd Cymraeg - gan eu hymgorffori mewn cyfansoddiadau haenog sy'n apelio at y synhwyrau. Yn fwy diweddar, mae cydweithio ag artistiaid fel Julia Griffiths Jones a Cefyn Burgess wedi ei hannog i archwilio dulliau newydd a gweld newid cynnil yn ei steil, tra'n parhau i fod â diddordeb yn y cymeriad a'r hanes sydd ynghlwm wrth y deunyddiau archifol hyn. 

Yn ogystal â'i gwaith yn y stiwdio, mae Luned yn angerddol dros ymgysylltu creadigol ac yn arwain gweithdai celf cymunedol yn rheolaidd. Mae hi hefyd wedi gweithio gyda sefydliadau fel Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri a Cadw, gan gysylltu ei gwaith ymhellach â thirweddau, treftadaeth a chymunedau Cymru.

Luned Rhys Parri is an artist based in the Caernarfon area, whose practice brings together collage, painting and three-dimensional elements. Her work often draws on Welsh history and culture, at times responding to significant political events and moments from the nation’s past. 

Luned has developed a distinctive visual language through her use of found materials, particularly old Welsh-language magazines and newspapers, which she incorporates into layered and tactile compositions. More recently, collaborations with artists including Julia Griffiths Jones and Cefyn Burgess have encouraged her to explore new approaches and a subtle shift in her style, while retaining her interest in the character and history held within these archival materials. 

Alongside her studio practice, Luned is passionate about creative engagement and regularly leads community art workshops. She has also worked with organisations including Eryri National Park and Cadw, further connecting her practice with the landscapes, heritage and communities of Wales.
