Arddangosfa Golau Arall: 

Mae'r gwaith celf yma am olau, am godi ar ôl cyfnod covid a'r amser clo yng Nghymru a gweddill y byd. Mae'r arddangosfa yn dathlu beth sydd gennym ni yma ar ein stepan drws. 

Rwy'n ymateb i'r tirlun drwy ddefnyddio iaith fy bersonol fy hun, ac wedyn yn archwilio'r broses drwy weithio yn fy stiwdio lle rwy'n mwynhau archwilio technegau a phrosesau. Yn syml, rwy'n peintio'r byd o nghwmpas, y tir, bywyd llonydd a sefyllfaoedd bob dydd.

Credaf mewn creu darnau gwreiddiol a gweld y byd o’r newydd, gan ymateb i'r hyn sydd o ‘mlaen. Mae gen i ddiddordeb yn lliwiau a siâp y tir, yn ogystal a'r hanes a diwylliant eang sydd yn ein amgylchynu yng ngogledd Cymru ac wedi ei fewnweddu i'r chwareli llechi a mynyddoedd.

Dwi eisiau i bobl sylweddoli pa mor lwcus ydy ni o fyw yn yr ardal yma a pha mor bwysig ydi hi i wneud y mwyaf o beth sydd gennym eisioes ar ein stepan drws.

Mae cymryd risg a thrio prosesau Newydd yn ran o’r gwaith ynghyd a gwneud camgymeriadau a bod â’r dewrder i barhau gyda'r hyn dwi yn ei gredu. Er fod y gwaith yn ymddangos yn ffigurol, rwy'n gwthio ffiniau ac yn cymryd risgiau, gan greu gwaith haniaethol weithiau, a symyd rhwng dulliau gwahanol, gan gadw fy niddordeb.

Mae'r tir yn bwysig i fi a hoffwn barhau i archwilio'r awyr agored. Yn syml rwy'n ymateb i'r tir ble cefais fy ngeni, gan geisio dal moment mewn amser drwy broses greadigol.

Golau Arall exhibition:

 These artworks are about light, about rising after the covid period and lockdowns in Wales and the rest of the world. The work celebrates what we have on our doorstep.

I react to the landscape by using my personal language and explore the process in my studio. In the studio I enjoy exploring technique and process. I simply paint the world around me, the land, still life and everyday situations.

I believe in creating original pieces and seeing the world afresh, simply reacting to what is in front of me. I am interested in colour and shape within the land, as well as the vast history and culture we have here in north Wales which is embedded into the slate quarries and surrounding mountains.

I want people to realise how lucky we are to live here in this area and to make the most of what we have on our doorstep.

The work is about risk taking and trying new processes, making mistakes, and having the bravery to continue with what I believe in. Although some works seem figurative, I am constantly pushing boundaries and taking risks, sometimes producing abstract works, shifting between different methodology and approaches, keeping myself interested and engaged.

The land is very important to me, and I want to continue exploring the great outdoors. I simply react to the land where I was born and have been brought up in, trying to capture a moment in time through a creative process.
