Collection: Louise Morgan RCA
Cefais fy ngeni ym Mangor a'm magu ym Methel Caernarfon, heblaw am gyfnod byr tra yn y brifysgol rwyf wedi byw yng Ngogledd Cymru ar hyd fy oes. Trwy gydol fy mhlentyndod ac fel oedolyn ifanc roeddwn yn darlunio a phaentio'n frwd.
Fodd bynnag, hyfforddais yn wreiddiol i fod yn feddyg. Ymgartrefais yng Nghricieth a gweithio fel meddyg teulu
Yn fy 30au hwyr cefais ddiagnosis o glefyd Parkinsons, a bu farw fy chwaer iau yn sydyn, Er mwyn ymdopi â'r galar dechreuais greu celf eto. Gan dreulio fy holl amser rhydd yn peintio a thynnu lluniau tu allan yn bennaf , roeddwn yn cael fy adnabod yn lleol fel y “Painting Doctor”
Dechreuais arddangos fy ngwaith yn llwyddiannus a chael fy sefydlu fel artist ac o ganlyniad rhoddais y gorau i fy ngwaith fel meddyg 15 mlynedd yn ôl.
Rwyf bellach yn gweithio fel artist gweledol llawn amser, mae fy stiwdio wedi’i lleoli yn Nhregarth, ger Bethesda.
Mae fy ngwaith yn llawn mynegiant ac rwy'n cael fy ysbrydoli gan brofiadau fy mywyd, yr amgylchedd lleol, pobl, a hanes. Mae fy ngwaith yn hawdd i’w adnabod, gan fy mod yn defnyddio technegau gwneud marciau arloesol a newydd.
Rwy'n aelod etholedig o'r Academi Frenhinol Gymreig (Academi Frenhinol Cymru).
Datganiad Artist
Fel artist rwy'n chwiliwr ac yn gasglwr profiadau newydd. Rwy'n mynd ar ôl gorwelion newydd ac rwyf bob amser eisiau gweld y tu hwnt i'r nesaf. Rwy'n anelu at atgynhyrchu'r profiad yn fy ngwaith celf,
Rwyf am fanteisio ar seice’r gwylwyr a’u helpu i adnabod atgofion a gafodd effaith gadarnhaol ar eu lles, neu sy’n dylanwadu arnynt i weithredu neu feddwl am faterion yn eu bywydau eu hunain neu fywydau pobl eraill.
Wrth chwilio’n gyson am y nofel, mae fy ngwaith yn amrywiol a gallai gael ei ysbrydoli gan ryngweithio dynol, tirwedd yr wyf wedi’i weld, barddoniaeth a hyd yn oed materion cyfoes. Rwy'n gweithio o'r cof yn bennaf ac mae fy nhechneg gwneud marciau a'r lliwiau a ddefnyddiaf yn cael eu dewis yn ofalus i ennyn ymateb emosiynol gan y gwyliwr.
Rwy'n gweithio mewn sawl cyfrwng gwahanol, ac rwy'n arbrofi'n barhaus i gyflawni'r canlyniad dymunol.
I was born in Bangor and bought up in Bethel Caernarfon, apart from a brief period whilst at university I have lived in North Wales all my life. Throughout my childhood and young adulthood, I drew and painted avidly.
However, I originally trained to be a medical doctor. I settled in Criccieth and worked as a GP
In my late 30s I was diagnosed as having Parkinsons disease, and my younger sister died suddenly; to cope with the grief I took up art again. Spending all my free time painting and drawing mostly outside, I was known locally as the “Painting Doctor “
I began to successfully exhibit my work and became established as an artist so 15 years ago I completely stopped General Practice
I now work as a full-time visual artist, my studio is based in Tregarth, near Bethesda.
My work is expressive, and I am inspired by my own life experiences, the local environment, people, and history. My work is instantly recognisable, as I use innovative and novel mark making techniques.
I am an elected member of the Royal Cambrian Academy. (The Welsh Regional Royal Academy).
ARTIST STATEMENT
As an artist I am a seeker and collector of new experiences. I chase after new horizons and always want to see beyond the next. I aim to reproduce the experience in my artwork,
I want to tap into the viewers psyche and help them recognise memories that had a positive effect on their wellbeing, or that influence them to act or think about issues in their own or others’ lives.
Constantly searching for the novel, my work is varied and could be inspired by human interaction, landscape I have seen, poetry and even current affairs. I work mostly from memory and my mark making technique and colours I use are carefully chosen to evoke an emotional response by the viewer.
I work in several different media, and I am constantly experimenting to achieve the desired outcome.
