Within the cut wood, I sought for grain, spalting and stress marks that would enable me to map out an image expressing an emotional response while reflecting environment and location.  \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eMy 2D and 3D paintings, produced using oil paint, gold and metal leaf, are intended as icons of the abstract story of the tree, reflecting its beautiful and historical location within the Plas Glyn-y-Weddw woodland. Using colour as a language, juxtapositions of symbolism, realism, emotion and abstraction convey the story of the tree.
