I mi, mae holl goedwigoedd y byd yn gysylltiedig â’i gilydd. Rwyf wedi gweld y dinistr a achosir gan gorfforaethau mwyngloddio rhyngwladol yn Fforest Law Amazon, lle mae coed hynafol dros fil o flynyddoedd oed yn cael eu datgoedwigo. Ni allaf feddwl am y goeden ffawydd ym Mhlas Glyn-y-Weddw heb feddwl am goedwigoedd ym mhobman—ac am y gwleidyddiaeth gorfforaethol sy’n amddiffyn coetiroedd yn Hemisffer y Gogledd tra’n disbyddu’r rhai yn y De i echdynnu mwynau.

I created the sculpture as an invitation for contemplation, opening a dialogue to question our connection and the future of forests worldwide. To me, all the forest in the world are interconnected. I have seen the devastation caused by international mining corporations in the Amazon Rain Forest, where ancient trees over a thousand years old are deforested. I cannot think of the beech tree in Plas Glyn-y-Weddw without thinking of forests everywhere- and of the corporate politics that protects woodlands in the Northern Hemisphere while depleting those in the South to extract minerals.
