These are some of the most Westerly native beechwoods in the UK and formerly a source of charcoal that fueled the early Industrial Revolution. This led to the beechwoods being ravaged by successive industrial activities and associated systems including ironworks, limestone quarries and kilns, electricity pylons, tramway,  railway, micro-hydro installation and dual carriageway. \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eBeech Wood Pieces (1) is a multi-functional, multi-sensory object. A stand-alone sculptural piece, when worn it surrounds the wearer in the smoky scent of the charcoal and delicate chimes of the pieces as they collide.
