He was educated at Ysgol Botwnnog and went on to study art at Coleg Menai, where he developed the foundations of his creative practice. After years away from creating, John returned to art during the Covid lockdown while shielding. This time of isolation became a catalyst for renewed focus and experimentation, allowing him to reconnect with his creativity. The marks are raw and tactile, shaped by the natural irregularity of the charcoal and the memory held in the wood itself.
